A gin soaked Gold Star for our 60 Squared in The Great Taste Awards 2017
Great Taste, the world’s most coveted food awards, which celebrates the very best in food and drink, has announced the Great Taste stars of 2017. Out of over 12,300 products to be judged, Anno 602 was awarded a Gold Star in the Great Taste awards, which means judges dubbed it simply delicious!
The Judges, which included chef, food writer and author, Gill Meller, MasterChef judge and restaurant critic, Charles Campion, author and chef, Zoe Adjonyoh, baker, Tom Herbert, and food writer and baking columnist Martha Collison as well as food buyers from Fortnum & Mason, Selfridges, and Harvey Nichols, conducted a bline taste test before deciding on the scores.
Of 602 they said, "Rich, prominent woody aromas with an initial spirit hit as would be expected from 60% abv. Earthy spice depth. A smooth palate with gentle liquorice characters." and "A dash of water opens up the nose amazingly showcasing the cumin and cloves, reminiscent of creamy masala chai."
602 makes a fabulous, bold Gin & Tonic. Match with fever tree tonic, plenty of ice and garnish with lemon or orange and peppercorns.
