About Anno

Anno spirits are made in the Kent countryside.

The distillery sits within a working farm, surrounded by orchards, fields, and hedgerows. Wildlife moves through the landscape — rabbits in the grass, birds of prey overhead, and barn owls appearing towards evening. Much of the day, the site is quiet and still.

Being based here creates opportunities to work closely with the surrounding landscape. Fruit, botanicals, and other ingredients can be sourced from nearby farms or gathered carefully from hedgerows when appropriate, allowing the character of Kent to find its way into the spirits in a direct and practical way.

Distilling takes place alongside brewing, fermentation, and food production as part of Canterbury Brewers & Distillers. Within that wider project, Anno represents a more botanical, landscape-led expression — shaped by local produce, seasonal availability, and a close relationship with place.

Working in this environment tends to influence how things are done. Fermentations are given time, and distillation happens in small batches, guided by taste and observation rather than fixed routines. Small decisions made early on are allowed to carry through into the finished spirit.

Anno spirits are made with care, in a setting that encourages focus and patience. Some releases follow familiar styles; others reflect ideas explored through ongoing work. All are shaped by where they are made.
