A Kent gin with an extraordinary story
Originally created in 2020 to celebrate Anno co-founder Andy Reason's 65th birthday, Extreme 95 was born from scientific experimentation and a determination to push the boundaries of traditional gin-making.
What emerged was something rather extraordinary: a gin at 95% ABV, with an intensified botanical recipe designed to deliver exceptional flavour in the smallest of servings.
Its launch attracted attention from gin enthusiasts and the press alike. But behind the headline was something more interesting: a beautifully crafted Kent dry gin that was never intended to be enjoyed like an ordinary spirit.
It's all about the flavour
While its strength might grab the headlines, it's the flavour that makes Anno Extreme 95 so special.
The carefully selected botanicals create a wonderfully complex gin, with bold juniper at its heart, warming spices, fresh citrus and delicate herbal sweetness.
Kentish hops add another layer of character, while grapefruit, nutmeg, eucalyptus and liquorice contribute to its distinctive aromatic profile.
The result is an intensely concentrated gin with a long, dry and beautifully balanced finish. This isn't simply a gin made to be strong. It's a gin made to deliver extraordinary flavour in a remarkably small measure.
Just 5ml for a full-flavoured G&T
Because the botanicals are so concentrated, just 5ml of Anno Extreme 95, carefully measured and thoroughly diluted with tonic, is enough to create a full-flavoured G&T.
A 5ml serving at 95% ABV contains approximately 0.48 UK units of alcohol, compared with 2 units in a 50ml double measure of 40% ABV gin. That is around 76% less alcohol when comparing these two specific measures. Extreme 95 itself is a very high-strength spirit, not a low-alcohol gin.
Our recommended serve is beautifully simple:
- Carefully measure 5ml of Anno Extreme 95 using the supplied measuring beaker.
- Add to a glass filled with plenty of ice.
- Top with your favourite tonic water, thoroughly dilute and stir.
- Garnish with a slice of fresh grapefruit to complement the citrus botanicals.
A little really does go a long way.
Important: At 95% ABV, Extreme 95 must always be measured carefully and thoroughly diluted before drinking. Never consume it neat.
